1) Message boards : Graphics cards (GPUs) : No 780 TI luck! (Message 33902)

I just ran one long-run task via a GTX 780 Ti. Run time was 17,435 seconds. I plan to try the new card with this project in Linux next.
2) Message boards : Graphics cards (GPUs) : Nvidia driver for GTX 690 970 or 980 on windows xp (Message 29502)
Posted 4037 days ago by Jeroen
For whatever reason, NVIDIA decided to not support SLI with the GTX 680s in XP and XP x64. I spent a day trying to figure out what was wrong with my OS configuration since the SLI option was missing only to find that NVIDIA decided to pull support. Being that the GTX 690 has two GK104 chips, perhaps NVIDIA removed the 690 vendor info in the inf file due to not wanting to support SLI.

Posted 4038 days ago by Jeroen
My system finished four of the new beta tasks and both of my GPUs are crunching the beta tasks currently. GPU temperatures are 65/68C at 80% fan speed and 25C ambient temperature. Unfortunately in Linux, nvidia-smi will not tell me the GPU load.

Run time ranges from 23493 - 24033 seconds per task.
4) Message boards : Graphics cards (GPUs) : NVIDIA Preparing GeForce GTX Titan LE (Message 29448)
Posted 4042 days ago by Jeroen
It looks like the Titan LE will be to the K20 as the Titan is to the K20x. The Tesla K20 is also equipped with 2496 CUDA cores, 320-bit memory bus, and 5GB of memory. Price wise, the K20 sells for $3300 while the K20x sells for $4600. The difference may give some idea as to what the pricing of the Titan LE will be. I would estimate the price of the Titan LE being in the range of $700-$750.
5) Message boards : Number crunching : Is anyone working CUDA 4.2 with LINUX? (Message 26327)

I can also confirm that the CUDA 4.2 application works correctly in Linux with both GTX 580 and 680. I am running driver 295.33 on my systems.

Thanks. I will take a look at that device and do some stress testing on it. I also updated the card so that the fan speed will ramp up to 100% at 76C to keep the GPU temps down. Max I have seen is 72C.

I just finished my first WU via the 580. Run time 9176 sec. I am not sure how good that is or not.

This is good. If you want maximum performance, you should dedicate one CPU core to feed the GPU. Use the SWAN_SYNC=0 environmental setting to achieve this. (control panel -> system -> advanced tab -> environment variables -> new (system variables) -> variable name: SWAN_SYNC value: 0 -> restart windows)

Thanks for the tip. I just added this environment variable.

Hello -

I have been running GPUGRID.net on my GTX 295 via Linux and NVIDIA driver 260.19.21 64-bit. Only one of the five tasks that my GPU has ran so far completed successfully. The others failed with the following:

SWAN : FATAL : Cuda driver error 2bc in file 'swanlib_nv.c' in line 243.

Has anyone else here come across this failure before? Thanks.

Hello -

I am new here with GPUGRID.net. I just finished my first WU via the 580. Run time 9176 sec. I am not sure how good that is or not. The card is an EVGA SC. I have it clocked at 797/1594 currently but the card runs stable at 900 MHz stock voltage with a bit warmer temp.
