I'm not overclocking so I had not thought about the over temp issue. I will check into that when I get home.

Thanks for the ideas.
2) Message boards : Number crunching : All tasks erroring out (Message 21777)

All of my tasks the last several days have been returning the following message:

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
The system cannot find the path specified. (0x3) - exit code 3 (0x3)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
# Using device 0
SWAN: FATAL : Unable to enumerate devices
Assertion failed: 0, file swanlib_nv.c, line 390

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

</stderr_txt>
]]>

These are the applications I have been running:
ACEMD2: GPU molecular dynamics v6.15 (cuda31)
Long runs (8-12 hours on fastest card) v6.15 (cuda31)
Both are returning the same message.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? It seems likely to be something at my end but I'm not sure what.

Thanks for your help.

Again yes, GPUGrid is on my BAM! account.

I will do as you suggest and take this to the BoincStats forum as well.

(Of course, now that I am looking at this problem it is behaving itself.)

This host is indeed attached to BAM!

So which BAM! setting is detaching this project from this host? I will check out BAM! and see if I can see anything there.

Thanks.

None of the other projects running on this system are having this problem. Einstein, Milkyway, Seti and WCG among others are all sending back valid WUs, some of them are even doing GPU work without a problem. I'm not sure when the problem first started but I have been noticing it the last week or so.
This system is a brand new Windows 7 build but it is reusing an old host name. This is the first time GPUGrid is seeing this host name.
I will get the rest of the information you requested this evening when I get home.

Thanks

Can anyone explain why I am getting over half of my WUs being returned with a status of "Client Detached"?

I am not manually detaching the WUs. Most of them seem to be detached after about 30 minutes and then I get another two WU and sometimes I get to processes them and other times they also get detached.

The system information is as follows:
CPU type GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz [Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 2]
Number of processors 4
Coprocessors NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (993MB) driver: 25896
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 x64 Edition, (06.01.7600.00)
BOINC client version 6.10.58
Memory 4087.49 MB
Cache 256 KB
Swap space 8173.13 MB
Total disk space 698.54 GB
Free Disk Space 665.58 GB
7) Message boards : Number crunching : BOINC Client requesting CPU WU's (Message 18798)
Posted 4955 days ago by Jnargus
This is a sample of a request for more work from my win7 pro system with a GTX460 GPU.

9/30/2010 10:06:11 PM GPUGRID Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
9/30/2010 10:06:11 PM GPUGRID Requesting new tasks for CPU
9/30/2010 10:06:13 PM GPUGRID Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
9/30/2010 10:06:13 PM GPUGRID Message from server: No work sent

Should it not be asking for both CPU and GPU work and not just CPU? I though it was asking for GPU work earlier but since finishing the last GPU WU it just asks for CPU work. I tried rebooting the system but that did not help. I am running other GPU projects. Could it be holding off on asking GPUGrid for more work until it has worked on the others for a bit?

Thanks

jnargus
