Anyone care to speculate when the first machine will exceed 40K and 50K of RAC? :-)

" If " the rig will crunch without producing computation errors and doesn't freeze I'd expect the 40K to be reached around the weekend... ;) (Knock on wood)

Could be that Linux needs both Cards to be the same in order to work but I could be wrong on that, UL1 probably knows more about that than I do ???

Sorry, can't help on that, because I never tried running different types of cards in one box...

I have one 295 on the way also ... Though I think I am going to try it in a Linux box first to see what the CPU load is there. I hope the drivers work there for me ...

i7965 + 3 GTX295 + Linux-x86_64 + Nnvidia driver 180.22 -> CPU-load = 18%...
...so this results in a load of 3% per GPU-core (if one wants to take the values displayed by the system as reliable...)

We have at least one potential system out there that is going to have 6 cores that will be available for work.

Take a look at this one: Triple GTX295
I do hope I can keep this configuration...and am not forced to split it up again because I can't feed it 24/7...

Regarding power consumption: when switching GPUGrid from standby to full throttle the display showed only 100 Watts more...

Made a quick comparison: Burdett's 260s are clocked at 1475000/1497000KHz and need about 25.000+/- s for an 3232-WU, Time per step is ~29ms. The 295ers are running at stock (-> 1242000KHz) and need about the same time...
When overclocked the times will get better... ;)
Ratm I'm very pleased with these cards: they're running cool and are very fast; I'd buy them again...

It's the same as with an 9800 GX2: you can run 2 WUs at the same time...
