I have a 680 and 570 running in mine with no problems. Probably as long as the driver you use lists both cards as supported, I would think it would work.

My 680 and my 570 are roughly the same speed per WU at PrimeGrid on the Double Precision Cuda GenFer WUs. On anything Single Precision "as are most projects" my 680 is about 40%-50% faster. 600s series "Keplers" are much better for power usage also.
600s will run Milky Way fine but you will never excell against an ATI card there.
My EVGA 680 starts automatically downclocking at 70c so I keep it around 67c with 50% fan at 100% utilization. Heat is never a problem with it. I got the superclocked EVGA Signature 2 series with 2 fans and highly reccomend it.

Thats great, do you know if most of the projects will all eventually be DP, or is it only the Mathmatically leaning projects that will be this way.

My 570 is faster than my 680 by 15-20% on DP work.
GK110 is on my list definitly.
I just hope its in the less than 600-700 dollars though. That hurts.
I may be released as Tesla or Quadro only, we will see I suppose.

I had been running some PrimeGrid Cuda WUs until I found out that most Cuda work there is Double Precision. I didn't realize 680s were worse at DP than the 500s are. I guess SP projects are the way to go for the 600s series. I did get the 680 signature 2 with 2 fans and its very fast at SP work such as GPU Grid. I guess Milky Way would be slower also. Its kind of dissapointing Nvidia handicapped the 600s in DP. Maybe the GK110 will be better.

Go to: Nvidia Settings / System Information / Components, to see the cuda version that is installed with nvidia drivers. Thats how I tell.

Did you try a project reset?

I got this error a few times, i solved it by raising the voltage a bit. Or not overclocking as much would help I would think too.

From the posts I have kept up with that error is often caused by overclocking.

Workaround for the "CUDA3.1 client sent to CUDA4.2 capable hosts" problem
message 25971

See the thread pasted above, I have all 3.1s running 4.2 now. look down a few posts on the above thread for the instructions on how to use a batch file to do it.
I pasted the 2 lines into wordpad and named it cuda42.bat and executed it.
I dont know how to make the link for it.

Im getting close to my new Amino Acid, 1 mil. more lol

The 3.1 DLLs are being pulled to the slot directory with the renamed 4.2 acmed file, is this correct ?
