I believe that people all know now how essential backlinks are for the search engine position success of our web site. I also think that most of us know now that one way to get these backlinks is by doing link exchanges with other sites. (For the inexperienced, backlinks are links o-n other web sites that point to ours.)
But do we know that there are many things we need to check always before agreeing to exchanging links with still another site? In the end, the whole point of exchanging links with others is always to enjoy the standing of the web web sites. It's consequently imperative that people examine in advance as to whether exchanging links with yet another site would be to our advantage or-not.
I've considered this whole notion of link exchange planning and came up with a process that requires an analysis of 3 pages of the web page we should exchange links with. The 3 pages are:
- where we shall need to examine 7 reasons for that page the home page,
- the directory page: here is the site that includes a set of groups that the website has put-together in a bid to arrange its link exchanges. We need to check 7 things here,
- the backlink page: this is the site which will include our backlink. We also have to examine 7 things here.
Remember that in some instances, the 'target' internet site will not have a directory page. If so, our investigation is a 2-step one instead of a 3-step one.
In this first article, of may be 2 or 3, we shall take a look at the 7 things (arranged in 2 groups) we must check about the webpage of the target site. To learn additional information, please consider checking out: better than linklicious on-line.
1. Browse here at the link linklicious backlinks to study the reason for this thing. We must examine what Google thinks of-the site. This is done by looking at some items that Google is pleased to report of a site. The idea here will be to see if there are any problems with the site, from Google's point of view, that would cause us to choose never to exchange links with them.
It is suggested that people seem at:
a) how many pages does the website have found? This is done by using 'site:www.site.com' in the Google search box,
b) exactly how many backlinks does Google report for your site? This is often done by using 'links:www.site.com' in the Google search box,
D) is the site listed in Google's index? This is often done through the use of 'http://www.site.com' inside the Google search box,
d) what's the Page Rank of the site/home page? There are several methods for doing this. One of the ways is to get the Google toolbar and look at the site to determine its PR. Yet another way is to use one of the numerous web sites online that allows us to find the PR of any web site. And one more way is to look for software that can tell you the PR of any web sites.
Even though we will generally need to examine these 4 things together in a type of table so as to decide whether the target site passes step one or not, there are certain results that could cause me to decide straight away not to exchange links having a site:
- when the PR of the site is zero,
- when the site is not listed in the Google index,
When the site doesn't have any pages indexed by Google -. To get another interpretation, consider having a glance at: linklicious.me alternatives.
You will note here that I am using Google since the first step in the planning. Actually, we can use any search-engine if we need to but given as it pertains to backlinks that Google is more fussy than others, I'd suggest using Google in the above first step.
2. I would then suggest that we examine 3 tickets of the property page of the prospective site, in a bid to find out when the site features a design suitable for ours:
a) its subject label,
b) its description label,
c) its key words label.
There are many ways of checking the contents of a web page's tags. Then you will need to visit the home page and click on the proper menu command to view the contents of the page, if your browser, such as MSIE, enables you to view the contents of a web page. Then you will have to scroll to the top of the page-to view the contents of its tags. The alternative is to look for web sites on the Internet that let you view the contents of the tickets of any web pages. There are many such internet sites on the net.
The reason for this task is that Google takes into account the design of internet sites when looking at backlinks. This implies that backlinks from a site that has a theme compatible with mine will be of greater price than one that comes from a site that has nothing to do with what our site is all about.
As mentioned above, this planning is on the webpage of the target website and is simply the initial step. There are 2 more steps: one on the directory page and one on the backlink page.
It is only if the goal web site passes the 3 steps that we must feel comfortable about trading links with them in that the hyperlink trade will be to our advantage. Needless to say that the goal web site will even need to perform the same 3-step analysis of our site prior to seeking to trade links with us.
