You might want to attach to yoyo@home (google address) or if you're more technical you can manually setup seti@home on ps3 as well. If all else fails you can always run folding@home client as well. This forum only gets checked like once a month by anyone associated with the project and in general this project doesn't seem the most reliable for 1. even being up, several long outages lately, 2. always having ps3 work units available, 3. occasionally issuing ps3 units that get cancelled by the server long before the deadline but still wasting cpu cycles on your machine, 4. issuing work units that cause your ps3 to hang, 5. support in general at least in english. At this point if you get work done for the project good deal but don't rely on it imho.

I don't want any this kind of answer!

I'm on this project since he has been started, the team is answering generally quickly, and the problems with the server are like the other projects!

You can check that today, Einstein, Seti, who are the biggest projects, have problems since 2 or more weeks!

I am already on Yoyo since the project is able to done some work for the PS3.
But i prefer to crunch for PS3-GPUgrid!

I understand and feel your pain and in the same boat. You really should look at folding@home. The are much better funded than this project, almost never down, and I have never had much of a problem with their client. They are also doing much more cutting edge science and their forum has much better support. Of course the science is better but getting folding@home credits instead of boinc credits does suck.

FWIW I too cannot get any WU for my PS3 although the server says there are WU available. I get the same error message as the OP.

Yes this seems to be a universal problem. Maybe the project will care enough next week to address it but based on the amount of support on this forum from the project my guess is this is somebodys hobby project running in their basement and they will get around to it next month.

I am not sure why it does not send the WUs.
I have just modified something on the server configuration to see if it works.

let us know. It's just a temporary patch though to try to isolate the problem.

Yep. Whatever it was you did on the server => IT WORKED.

Here an extract of the messages on my PS3 :

20 apr 2009 13:25:41 CEST|GPUGRID|[file_xfer] Finished download of file A68-_CELLGA_SHORT_3-0-A68
20 apr 2009 13:25:41 CEST|GPUGRID|[file_xfer] Throughput 19466 bytes/sec
20 apr 2009 13:25:42 CEST|GPUGRID|Starting A68-_CELLGA_SHORT_3-0-10-RND_0
20 apr 2009 13:25:42 CEST|GPUGRID|Starting task A68-_CELLGA_SHORT_3-0-10-RND_0 using cellmd2 version 503

So back to work again. This time with a different kind of WU's, but who cares.

BTW : The 'progress' now also seems to be working again ( sofar at least ).

Regards
Vagn
