I am trying to install BOINC on Ubuntu 23.04 but have run into several problems preventing me from using BOINC.

The first problem consists of the fact that I do not have permission to start the BOINC application. Upon searching online I found you must change the user to your account name.

The second problem now that I can get into the GUI of BOINC is: "boinc manager daemon start failed" and I cannot use any part of the GUI, it's all greyed out.

Help!

You would have better luck posting for help on the BOINC message board instead of in a project.

Check the binaries for any missing dependencies first.

Add your username to the boinc group.

I haven't upgraded to 23.04 but I see it's included in the BOINC repository. Are you using it?
