I have updated Preferences several times to exclude Test applications. Updated BOINC several times.

Bottom line, I do NOT want apps on this machine that hog 9 CPUs when they run.

The multiprocessor selection in BOINC will NOT work for this purpose as it leaves CPUs with no work.

The only solution seems to be to set Multiprocessor use to equal the number of GPUs in the system, however, If a MT app downloads, GPUs can and WILL STOP processing.

Is there a better solution? Preferences here should STOP Test apps, but do not appear to be doing that

Robert

You should also exclude the CPU MD application in your gpugrid preferences.

Hope that helps.

This is my experience

Task: 1315-MJHARVEY_CPUDHFR-0-1-RND2531_0

This Test Application is anounced with a runtime round about 2,5 hrs.
Now it's running over 5 hrs. WU is ready by 80% .

I'm absolut NOT happy about this.

Please give me more time for the WU: 3656-MJHARVEY_CPUDHFR-0-1-RND1174_2.
After 12 hours runtime there is only 0,46% - impossible to get it until 21 Oct.

katrin,

The length estimate, as well as the progress reporting, are incorrect. The WU should complete within 2 days.

Me too! I'm set to "Molecular Dynamics on CPU: no" but still they come!!

If I abort one another takes its place.

Time for M J Harvey to withdraw his WUs till he's sorted all the problems out.

Seems I solved the problem by setting this PC's location to "Work" and setting "Work" to "Molecular Dynamics on CPU: no".

Food for thought for someone...
