Summary of my 8.41 runs:

The 50 or so workunits on my x64 Windows Vista computer with a GeForce GTX 560 all gave error -97 and Error while computing, regardless of whether they were long or short, with one exception that gave Completed and validated.

The 10 or so on my x64 Windows 7 computer with a GeForce GT 440 all gave Completed and validated, except for one that is still In progress; all short.

Does this mean that I need to set the Windows 7 computer to No new tasks for GPUGRID until you have a newer version of this application ready?

Your GTX 560 gets above 85°C very quickly, that is too hot for that card at 1660MHz (830MHz core). Probably the card's heatsink needs to be cleaned and its fan should be checked and its RPM should be increased, or / and the GPU clock should be reduced (then the GPU voltage should be reduced also). You should increase the airflow into the case, remove the side of this PC if you can do that.

This card is even in worse condition than your other card, as it gets above 95°C. It's gonna get broken very soon if you don't improve its cooling.
This is a miracle that it can finish tasks successfully at all.

I think you mean the Windows Vista computer. However the 8.41 application is fine, the root of the problem is that your cards get very hot.

Heatsink cleaned. Fan Running. Software for adjusting the fan speed is automatic, with no user input. No software found for adjusting the GPU clock or the GPU voltage. Now running at about 72°C.

The GT440 fan was running when I started this, but then failed during the attempted cleaning. GT440 heat sink unreachable for cleaning. GPU use by BOINC disabled on that computer is disabled until I can do more.

Yes. Yes.
