Your personal background.
I am a musician and music teacher from Germany. Started many years ago on my first PC with SETI classic and always loved the idea of distributed computing. The days of SETI are now gone for me personally (though it still is a great idea and project). I am always looking to help quality projects (google the 'rechenkraft seal of approval').
I am running as international member since I do hope our contributions will benefit all mankind, regardless of nations.
I enjoyed crunching for a nostalgic little team, Picard's Charge and now - the daunting, spirited and gentle DC team: Team Musketeer's. My most favoured projects are SIMAP and LHC. And maybe GPUGRID - since I got my first GTX 295...
Your opinions about GPUGRID
GPUGRID science wise is probably the most worthy GPU project on BOINC.
I am glad to be able to contribute now, but it's really just fun since I got a GTX 295. Anything below a GT200 chip seems to be less rewarding than other GPU projects. I think hardware requirements and deadlines are really too harsh and too far away from usual computer users.
I'd like to see better communication with the crunchers and better information as well. Make the project more appealing for usual and occasional crunchers. Folding@home is a great example of how such a project should be.
