I was born in 1969, I live in Budapest, Hungary.
My first name is Zoltán (it comes from a turkish word "sultan"), and my family name is Rétvári (in Hungary (and in Japan too) we write our last name first :))
I'm an IT administrator and computer hardware smith. I like cats, I've got 4 of them, one in human form (she told me to put it in this way). My hobbies (besides crunching) are photography, biking, hiking.

I'm running GPUGRID, not because it's easy, but because it's hard.
I think our civilization canceled our biological evolution (especially in the last century), and accelerated the evolution of diseases. This project helps our knowledge to keep up with their pace. I hope that our computing power grows fast enough to prevent a future epidemic to outbreak. Furthermore I don't like that supercomputers mostly used for nuclear weapon research simulations (still it's better in that way than testing those nukes in real life), decrypting secret messages, and such. |
