Downloaded the new BOINC client, and it seems to be working again.

Haven't looked at my computers in awhile, and recently became aware that BOINC is giving me the aforementioned line. I've tried restart project, dropping and re-attaching project to no avail.

I also run WCG on my CPUs and those are connecting to IBM just fine. Was wondering if there is anything else that could've become screwed up.

Thank you

I still feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Haswell e will have an 8 core variant in q3. So this is definitely going to be bought. However, I would like this to be my last system build for more than a year, as pumping 5k annually is something I can not continue. Every other year, sure.

But with Volta and it's stacked dram.... I'm very cautious about dropping 1.8k+ on gpus that most likely won't be that large of a change. Well see I suppose

Which is good, because a Haswell-E w/ tri SLI Maxwell is looking to cost me around probably $3.5k. And I dont have that much money yet.

:)

As much as I want 2 of them. They are amazing. I'm currently saving to build a Haswell e w/tri sli maxwell cards. No room in the savings budget for new cards.

They are REALLY nice.

So, just wondering: How much GigaFLOPS does say a 780 put out for this website's app? Meaning, if a 780 were left running at stock 24/7, how much would one increase the sites performance?

I dont use einstein anymore for that exact reason skgiven. Theyre about as unoptimized as can be for newer cards. Much better to use AMD there now.

MJH, have you noticed that the 331.40 drivers for Windows has fixed the access violation bug for 110s? Might be worthy of a news post.

Its all a matter of perspective and how much cash you got. For me, 30% is a large enough # that its justifiable. If I can knock several hours off a WU, that's huge.

If one considers only price point, than yes, the newest is never the best. I will be waiting to buy when Maxwell is released. Not only because of the time difference between hardware release and app release, but because im really hoping Haswell e will offer an 8 core.

Indeed it has. 780 is around 30% faster than 680 Firehawk.
