Posted 5272 days ago by veebee just checking a cpl of my machines and one has a completed Gianni WU siiting there completed. It showed as "100%" uploaded (at some ridiculous rate) but was "stuck". So I clicked update for GPU grid and it then showed 0% uploaded, with the following message: Message tab: [error] Error reported by file upload server: [50-Gianni_bind_751-18-100-RND0036_1_4] locked by file_upload_handler PID=9621 Temporarily failed upload of 50-Gianni etc : transient upload error. Any ideas? the GTX275 does them reasonably quickly, but not quickly enough to throw completed WU's away. Cheers VB |

Posted 5368 days ago by veebee yeah... I am getting a repeated "no space left on server" error message.. which is a bummer, because it wont allow another WU to download until that one uploads.. I have a second WU running, but I hope this one upload before THAT one finishes..or my GPU will get really cold..... |

Posted 5408 days ago by veebee I may well have re-installed the nvidia driver.. as it (the card) seems to lose being recognised by BOINC if the machine gets restarted/ reboots etc. I have just tried going back to driver 180.51 and it is now running... thanks for mentioning the new driver install... (though it hasn't affected the other two machines.. strange..) Thanks again guys Veebee |

Posted 5410 days ago by veebee one of my machines (i7 920 with GTS 250) has been workign fine until last 48 hrs oe so. Every WU that DOES download, errors our almost immediately, and then gives message "output file xxxxxxxxxxxxx absent". From what I can see, they are all "IBUCH" WU's. any ideas or help appreciated, as it is affecting my output a bit having that card out of action.. Cheers Veebee |

Posted 5442 days ago by veebee hmmmm... must be that graphics cards are somewhat akin to athletes or something.... my GTX275 has spent a day or two warming up, and now its crunching through GPUgrid WU's happily and quickly.. including the aforementioned "IBUCH's"... imagine ... taking only 4 or 5 minutes to crunch a work unit when my older cards took half a day !!!! Just kidding ! but it is a nice improvement in spped... will look at winding it up in the next couple of days... (it is strange...one of my team members told me it "happens" for a day or so.. then rights itself.... strangely he was proven to be quite correct ...) |

Posted 5443 days ago by veebee I think all the failed WU's were IBUCH.. have picked up 1 x IBUCH and 1 x GIANNI this mornng.. the GIANNI is happily crunching away on the 275 (thank goodness) .. haven't tried letting this IBUCH run though...yet ! |

Posted 5443 days ago by veebee I posted before about my new GTX275 errorring out eveyr WU it recieved.. reaching my 4 errors per day in seconds... the drivers are all correctly installed BOIOINC recognises the card correctly and it runs properly with stress testing tools, yet is having horrible trouble with GPUgrid now for some reason. Link to this machine is : HERE I also have a GTS250 on an i7 (Linux x64) which works fine: HERE but the GT9600 on this q6600 (linux x64) errors out a high percentage of WU's well into them: HERE I am trying going back to driver 180.51 ( have just re-installed it on the GTX275 machien) and BOINC recognises the card fine... just have to waste time waiting around AGAIN for more WU's. |

Posted 5444 days ago by veebee veebee, Dave, the latest driver I can find on the nvidia site is 185.18.10 .. which is the one I'm using.. I have talked to someone who had similar probs. They suspended GPUgrid, restarted the machine, then restarted GPU grid. I will try this.. as soon as it allows me to download WU's again... "reached limit of 4 WU's per day"... |
