1) Message boards : Number crunching : Why are these WUs failing? (Message 16260)
Posted 5125 days ago by [BAT] Annabel
How many minutes should the ACEMD - GPU molecular dynamics 6.03 (cuda) WU last? I am using Nvidia GTX 275 card and the latest drivers. Currently: 20 minutes and only 4%. Is this ok?

That is about the time you might expect.

Does the checkpointing work?

Yes it does.

Well ...
There is only one solution for not having bad WU's at all and that is ... never crunching and not using computers.
3) Message boards : Server and website : Client detached? (Message 14069)
Posted 5230 days ago by [BAT] Annabel
I encountered some freak error. I succesfully ran and completed a WU, it was reported, but the server responds as:

28-Dec-2009 20:46:55 [GPUGRID] Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
28-Dec-2009 20:46:55 [GPUGRID] Reporting 1 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks
28-Dec-2009 20:47:00 [GPUGRID] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
28-Dec-2009 20:47:08 [---] Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
28-Dec-2009 20:47:12 [---] Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

This results in the outcome "Client detached". I noticed that this issue was already present in the past as well. See the results:

Can someone give a good explanation and/or suggestions what to do? Thanks a lot!
4) Message boards : Graphics cards (GPUs) : Can't rename output file (Message 12866)

I noticed the same this morning. It occurs when a WU finishes.

5) Message boards : Graphics cards (GPUs) : new driver 185.85 WHQL (Message 10165)
Posted 5447 days ago by [BAT] Annabel
I've updated to the new 185.85 WHPQL driver and my GTX 260 works fine.
Does someone have an idea of the size of the performance improvement over the elder 182.x driver? (mine is running 2 degrees hotter now, so I suggest it is performing a lot more work)
