I also use 190.42 on Ubuntu 9.10, 64bit version.

- Remove installed nVidia drivers,
...

How does one do that?
Sorry if that is a stupid question, however as you put such step-by-step instructions, it would seem right to detail this step also.

What is the cause of the above?

I'm running on Windows 7 RTM x86.
I installed the latest BOINC client from Berkely.
I set it to run in Protected Mode (Is this the problem?).
I installed the latest CUDA drivers from Nvidia.
I rebooted after installed.
I detached and reattached from GPUGrid with no change.

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers!

Hi.
If I remember correctly, running in protected mode is the problem with Vista and, I guess, Win7 also. I think it has something to do with permissions on accessing the video driver.

It happend to me too with 6.6.28.
Yesterday, before I went to work, I noticed a GPUGRID task sitting @ 72% done. When I got back home 12h later, it was still sitting on that 72% mark and still showing as running (checked the logs and indeed it was "running" all that time). Restarting BOINC kicked it back into motion.
Before this event I had a couple of SETI CUDA MB tasks that showed similar symptoms, however, those were stuck @ 0% and I don't beleive that even restarting BOINC did any good - aborting them did. ;)
So, if I hadn't been experimenting how BOINC handles multiple GPU projects, I'd still be running 6.5.0 on that machine as I do on others. And honestly, I wouldn't reccomend any 6.6 version yet.

However even if it was finished inside bonus credits time window, we won't receive any (bonus that is).

Try the 181.22 if they will install for you, I have Two 6.62's running @over 50% done now. The 181.22's installed on 9 XP Pro 64-Bit Box's of mine with no problems at all so they should for you too ...

That did the trick, seems to work fine with seti also. Thanks PoorBoy

Heck, I thought 180.84 was the sweet driver (for XP64) until this. Will try 181.22 or newer.

I just got problems with a 9800 GX2 on Server 2003 x64 with drivers 180.48.
Two WU on errors after 10-15 minutes.

But i can't updated to the drivers 1810.20 or 181.22, because after the update i got a BSOD, and the problem seems to be also with XP x64.
SO i have to wait for new drivers.
But right now i have only 6.61 app.

Maybe i am the only one.

Hi.
Did you try 180.84 drivers (note .84, not .48)?

Win XP64, errors here also, 5 in a row. Ver. 6.55 ran good.

Same here on Win XP64. Every WU starts ok, crunches to about 1.5% then it bombs out with this error. 6.55 ran perfectly (and using it I was able to test 180.84 drivers). What is the procedure for reverting back to 6.55?

Great, great news :). I`ll ckeck it soon. But r u sure about 180.84? I can see 180.48 as latest driver at nvidia.com. Or maybe you`ve written about some beta driver available at specific web adress?

Well I didn't post any links, because I couldn't find these drivers on Nvidia site, however googling for "cuda 180.84" should give you plenty of results.

Hi.
Just to report, that the new Nvidia drivers 180.84 fix memory leakages upon CUDA app exit on WinXP 64bit. Have tested it by exiting BOINC while running a GPU wu and saw GPU memory being released (using RivaTuner).
