1) Message boards : Graphics cards (GPUs) : Errors after driver update (Linux) (Message 10978)
Posted 5407 days ago by Profile Wang Solutions
Well after 5 days the problem remained, so today I uninstalled the new driver and went back to the old 180.x driver, and the work units are now processing correctly again. It appears that something in the new drivers is causing a SIGSEGV error in Linux.
2) Message boards : Graphics cards (GPUs) : continuus errors (Message 10977)

I have also had continuous errors with the new drivers but they have all been resolved by reverting back to the 180.x drivers.

Hi Everyone,

I updated my Ubuntu 8.10 box to the latest NVidia drivers today, and since then every GPUGrid WU errors with messages similar to this:

The old driver was completely removed and the new one installed properly. Can anyone shed any light on why this would be occurring?

I think I had the 182 drivers already, but have just installed 182.08 and will see if the problem recurs.

Host is here.

The last couple have been fine; before that were heaps that all failed; before that a run that were fine, and before that more errors etc. It has been doing this all along and it is quite frustrating.

Well, this is a work computer and it does no gaming, and uses no intensive 3D apps. I have also rebooted several times but the next work units still produce the same error.

Sorry if this is mentioned in another thread, but I could not find it. On one computer almost every WU I get fails with this error:

<core_client_version>6.4.5</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)
</message>
<stderr_txt>

Cuda error in file 'deviceQuery.cu' in line 59 : out of memory.

</stderr_txt>

This is on a 9800GTX 1GB. The computer runs Windows XP 64-bit with 6GB RAM.

What does it mean?

I seem to have the same problem again that was the original subject of this thread - no work "for your type of computer".

This is on a machine that normally gets work no problems.

You should be getting work now.

Thanks ignasi, all good now.

I have had one of these errors but have plenty of disk space and use 90% of it for BOINC. Is there anything else that could cause this sort of error?
