Posted 5575 days ago by Jayargh and if you are talking about reducing by 1 the task limit for every abort it will do no good.....there is an easy workaround for that...if you set your host to nnw then download and abort while the d/l is in progress it becomes a d/l error and not an abort.....why try to con volute the problem by punishing people for wanting equal credit for equal time? Seems the time you would have admin spending doing all this could be time spent actually solving the problem ;) |

Posted 5575 days ago by Jayargh I don´t matter about "selecting" WUs, take them as they come along, analyzing my task-list (1) I see a well-balanced mix of WUs, can´t complain about clearing the "rubbish." Would also be an efficient way to stop users with 2 or 3 cards in their host from getting enough work to use all they have....yes that would be a smart move! Especially now with a GTX295 if you have 2 of those you will run out of work with the current 15 per day limit! They need to up the limit not lower it! |

Errr I don't say anything to anyone about doing more or bragging...its called personal satisfaction...and I never said I didn't crunch for science. I also don't tell my neighbors to find more productive hobbies than bass boats, fast cars,or motorcycles. |

Pat if you take a look at my hosts(never hidden) you will see no aborts except for the Linux memory leak problem which was fixed. That doesn't mean I won't start aborting.....I bought these cards to crunch and not for gaming and I expect fair payment for work done.......I spent big $ on hardware and spend major $ on juice for credit.Anyone who thinks most users put science before credit is only fooling themselves. I am just reporting to admin a trend I am seeing that has gotten no attention.... only lip service....changing credits per task type is not a major change and should not take this long and as XaaK says users are taking the situation into their own hands ;) JR |

Posted 5577 days ago by Jayargh If you are not going to equalize the credits granted between the various types of work you are giving out for the time it takes to run them....ie: GPUTEST...USPME....and ....US...you will notice a lot of work that is being aborted so that crunchers can pick up only the GPUTESTS which pay the best for the time spent. I would think it would be in the projects best interests to do something about the disparity of credit granted ASAP |

Overclocking in Linux
(Message 5454)
Posted 5578 days ago by Jayargh Wine does not work in controlling hardware and neither does running a virtual box...tried both. There is a new update of NVclock 0.8 beta 4 out but I haven't had much success in the install yet. |

Posted 5582 days ago by Jayargh Has anyone found an OCk utility that works for the newer cards in Linux? Seems all the utilities I have found do not work and most threads here that describe different utilities are all for Windows.....Thanks in advance |

All of a sudden not getting work
(Message 5102)
Posted 5588 days ago by Jayargh At this point why is the project continuing to keep short deadlines,1 task per core, and 24 hour back-offs??????? If they could flood us with work even once while all these problems are going on they would be getting work back while now they get none or very little and we could be happily crunching???? I don't understand the logic of letting us starve while the scheduler/feeder is broken!!!!! |

No work available? Please install 6.4.2
(Message 4946)
Posted 5592 days ago by Jayargh I had 6.4.2 running with minor problems, i.e. I had to suspend all CPU projects to make it request new WUs.. but I got them. You can never tell anything on the server status due to lumping GPU & PS3 work together. This project has turned into a nightmare to run the last few weeks....one problem after another ARGHHHHHH! |

Posted 5593 days ago by Jayargh Paul I think he means 216 shaders vs 190 shaders ....2 different types of GTX260. I believe the 260-216 is the best bang for the "Buck" atm hehe |
