Ubuntu 8.10 64bit
Cat 9.1
AMD Phenom 9500
ASUS M2A-VM HDMI
ATI 3870
4gigs ddr800

I have a few ATI HD cards 2600XT,3850,3780 and 4780 to try if you need
plus I can do multi-GPU upto four cards

I imagine it's too late, but I post indeed :-).
This is my system:

SO: openSUSE 11.1 64 bit
CPU: Phenom 8450 (3 cores)
GPU: Ati Radeon HD3850, with latest Ati driver
RAM: 8 Gb
