Hi all!

Just sent a new project to the long queue, around 2500WUs, ~100,000 credits each.
In particular, this project will help us to understand how antidiabetic drugs block its target, but also to develop a better general method for other targets and drugs involved in different diseases.

Thanks to all!!

We'll gladly crunch those for you! :)

I hope my 750Ti likes them, it seems to be very selective up to now J

Awesome! Thanks for posting a little info about the task type - it really does mean a lot to some of us. I look forward to digging into these :) Keep up the good work!

Finally, some workunits I can recommend on the diabetes newsgroups.

Thank you!

My slower GTX780Ti has completed one of these in 5 hours 6 minutes and 13 seconds.
However its CPU time tells me that the setting of the SWAN_SYNC environmental variable has no effect on this type of workunints, which is pretty bad.
Edit: This is a CUDA4.2 task, so it's ok. In this case however, the fact that my hosts received CUDA4.2 tasks is pretty bad.

Great to see something for diabetes as well.
Good luck with your research in this Noelia.

Hi Noelia,

Don't know what's going on with this WU but it completed 2 days ago and is still listed as pending (Completed, waiting for validation):

http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=8190965

Validator problems?

Thanks, Noelia!

It is good to see a description of the objectives addressed by research WUs. This helps volunteers understand your research a little better. While it is also good to see the work to we have contributed, results can flow many months after completion of WU crunching.

Thanks, again,

John

They are running about 14 hours on my GTX 750 Ti's. I just upgraded from the 335.28 drivers to the 337.88 drivers (WinXP), and they continue to run fine. The CPU usage is between 4 and 5 percent (E8400).

I too see a similar situation with this one: http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=8203274
That's quite unusual, maybe an issue ?

That first one was eventually validated, maybe manually? Now you have one that's stuck.
I also found 2 more, 1 from my machines and one from skgiven:

http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=8203185

http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=8186686

Interestingly, all 3 were reported within a 15 minute time period. Validator problem? I bet there a a lot more out there...

I believe this could be somehow related to the issue.

That 15 minutes I mentioned above was part of the time period when the GPUGrid database was having problems and we couldn't get WUs. Wasn't too long so most probably didn't notice.

Here is an example of strange behavior for a work unit:

I came home to find boinc wasn't running, so I restarted it. This unit didn't want to start (it was "Waiting to run", scheduler pending, something like that) . So I suspend this unit, and rebooted the computer. Then I resumed the unit. It was about 11% complete, when it restarted. The next thing that happened, was, it was 100% done and uploading. I didn't do anything to the unit. It finished in a little over an hour, complete and valid. I don't understand this.
