I added a second 660TI to my rig running the 326.80 driver. I'm getting CUDA55 short run tasks and CUDA42 long run tasks. Shouldn't I only be getting CUDA55 tasks with this driver?
XP SP3 32 bit.

I think this is normal. I have both versions as well on a 660 and a 770. If a certain card can not handle a tasks, it will not get one. So no worries.

Yeah, you should, but the system doesn't work well.
I think the assignment system has a fundamental design flaw inherited by a test mechanism more suited to CPU crunching (IIRC). On my W7 system I mostly get CUDA5.5 but on Linux its more mixed (every app and cuda combination is possible and common with a variety of drivers):
v8.03 (cuda55)
v8.00 (cuda55)
v8.03 (cuda42)
v8.00 (cuda42)

Thanks for the explanation. The latest long task I received was a 55 so I'm good.

I'm also getting 8.14 tasks for CUDA4.2 and 5.5 on my single card Win box. Not sure why 4.2 is still being sent, but they're not doing much harm anyway (slightly lower performance, if I remember ocrrectly).

Yes it was a driver issue. With a certain driver, only 4.2, but with newer driver and if the card can mnage, 5.5 is issued with (little) faster performance.
