I recently upgraded to Nvidia 307.97 driver on a Windows 7 64 bit computer with two gtx 480 cards, and I could only run a Wu's on one of the cards. After attempting to fix this and failing, I reverted back to the 301.42 driver, and everything runs fine, I can run a WU on each of the cards.

Did anyone else run into this problem? and/or have a solution to this problem?

Driver 301.42 supports cuda 4.2, so I should be okay next year when GPUGRD stops supporting cuda 3.1?

Thanks for the help. I knew there was a thread that explained this, but I couldn't find it because I couldn't remember its name. Using the <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> line inside the cc_config.xml did the trick, though I had to reboot the computer after I edited and saved the file.

I never before had to use this, to run multiple work units on multiple gpus. The previous drivers did this automatically for me, so much for progress!

for anybody else, after you edit the cc_config.xml file you only need to go to the Advanced menu in BOINC Manager, and click "Read config file", it will read the file immediately and take effect without having to stop BOINC or reboot.

Actually, I did the "Read config file", but in my case it didn't work, neither did exiting out of boinc and restarting it. Only a reboot got it working. I know this sounds weird!

Perhaps if you did a clean install the driver installed for one card but not the other or just not fully. Were you prompted to reboot?
Sometimes a double reboot is required to fulfil dependency propagation.
There always seems to be some quirks with new drivers but rarely any benefits when it comes to crunching.

Well, it's a BOINC thing. They think it's to cumbersome to let you set explicitly which GPU to use for what, so they make you revert to such tricks - in case the GPU driver reports any differenc between the GPUs (which the new one seems to do in your case).

I did do a clean install, along with all the other things I mentioned in the previous posts, and everything is working fine, right now. So, as long as it is working fine, I will put this behind me, and thank you again for your help.
