Hi everybody,
requesting more CUDA calculation power from my Nvidia Quadro 2000M GPU card in applications like GPUGrid I was looking at solution like Vidock 4 + in combination with ATI cards (7970) or new Kepler based cards.
I know from Vidok site that mounting an Nvidia GPU card in my M4600 the best choice would be the ATI configuration, but my first information I was searching for was if someone of you, GPUGrid user, had experience with Vidock solution.

Thank you in advance.

Your unspecified laptop would need an Express Card slot. You would need to carefully check you laptop's spec and the Vidock 4 specifications in relation to PCIE.

You're not going to get any more CUDA calculation power from an ATI card (it doesn't do CUDA), and GPUGrid hasn't released a GCN app to support the new-ish ATI/AMD cards.

Until an app is debugged/redeveloped for Kepler, it would be too speculative to invest in such a setup for a laptop to crunch on here.

Skgiven,
many thanks for your reply.

As shown in the title of the thread my laptop is a Dell Precision M4600 equipped with a Quadro 2000M overclocked with MSI afterburner.
My laptop is also equipped with a 54mm Express Card slot (PCIe x16).

Thank you a lot for your information about CUDA calculation and GPUGrid update on these new GPU.

I will wait for new GCN app.

I think this is what you have:

Quadro 2000M GF106 40nm PCIe 2.0 x16 2048 550 1100 1800 192:32:16
Performance would be ~1/5th of a GTX570/GTX480 - realistically ~381GFlops peak;
Laptop GPU's are really quite poor. Even the Quadro 5010M (GF110GLM) only has a rating of 691GFlops peak (less than half of a GTX470).

Wait and see how the GF600 pans out. I don't know if there are any plans for a GCN app or not. Might depend on how the GF600 fairs.
