Message 22330 - Posted: 22 Oct 2011 | 6:48:08 UTC

At 22 Oct 2011 5:15:25 UTC, the client on my ARNIE-PCH machine did a "client detached" on 28 consecutive WU's before downloading some WU's that are now being processed normally.

What would cause this?

Do you use an account manager (eg BAM or GridRepublic)? If you have manually attached it will detach you. You need to attach using the account manager.

Nope... I have always been using the BOINC Manager to do the project additions.

6.10.36 perhaps. Try 6.10.60 or 6.12.34

In the "event log" (formerly known as the messages tab) what does it have in the startup messages about project prefs?

I don't see anything out of the ordinary on the prefs. I am about to dismiss the issue as a fluke since it hasn't happened again (yet...) Here is an excerpt of my log around the time the client detached:

Not those messages. Ones like these at BOINC startup, just after the NVIDIA GPU lines.

Message 22618 - Posted: 29 Nov 2011 | 19:03:43 UTC - in response to Message 22347.

I've had this happen to me twice, most recently last night.

Four WUs were in progress and a three were "Ready to Start' with another downloading. One of these was a 97% complete.

I left the room for 10 minutes, came back and all the units in work had disappeared as well as all the "Ready to start" units, and the task tab showed 8 units downloading.

There was nothing in the event log to indicate what had happened. The first time this happened about 3-4 weeks ago there was something about 'client detached', but not last night.

Some of the work units were;

http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=2894642
http://www.gpugrid.net/workunit.php?wuid=2894345

It's frustrating because there's no smoking gun.
