After 24hrs boinc tells me that my task is at almost 4%, while the result is due 4 days after it was send. Does this mean I can't help with my 8400GS?

my processor is a Xeon 5110 and I told boinc to use 1 processor.

This is the bad side of graphics cards...they get old soon. Your GPU is ten times slower than a recent one and over 20 times the top cards.

I know my graphic card is slow (it's for my server not for gaming), but if the card is too slow, maybe it's a good idea to not put a link to the nvidia cuda website and say they are all compatible, but to state the which graphic cards are fast enough.

It is compatible, but slow. In a forum I have specified that cards with 100 stream processors are needed. Once, we have more messages in this forum, we will do a FAQ with these kind of indications.

The problem is that the deadline is too short. Is there a reason that the deadline can't be set to at least a week or something?

True, any card is compatible in theory, but it may not be possible to complete a work unit in 96 hours (In some cases my computer may only be on for a part of each day).

At the moment, my current work unit is a day overdue and I'm wondering if it will just get thrown away when it is completed.

I'm on an 8600GTS and I am at 60% after about 24 CPU hours (the CPU is a Q6600 and so I'm using the other three cores on other BOINC projects).
