My 8800gts 512 is now crunching one wu, nearly 20 % done with elapsed runtime of + 54 hours. Is my gpu out of date?

GPUGRID Task s2r458f96_s12r340-TONI_KKAL6-1-2-RND3993_0 is 1.75 days overdue; you may not get credit for it. Consider aborting it.

It is not suitable/capable of completing long tasks in time, and probably not even the shorter tasks. So, yes it is out of date.

Here is a list of recommended GPUs, should you decide to update at some stage.
Best cards - Geforce GTX 590, 580, 570, 480, 470, 465

Good luck,

Thanks for your answer skgiven. I have chosen from the gpugrid projects to accept only short wu's, so that is why I asked. Still, +11 days per task is bit too long...

I would advise you to abort the task.

You might want to hook up to another project, but your card is quite old (I had one once).

Good luck,

Dirk

When I was at my parents house a couple days ago I fired up my old gpu, an 8800 GT to see if it could still crunch GPUgrid. From what I saw it could probably still complete the normal WUs before the deadline but it'd not really be worth it. I think the task errored out because I was overclocking to see how far it could go. It could overclock quite a bit btw, with core and shader clock linked it went up to around 750 mhz core clock (600 is the base) before seti WUs started getting errors. Gaming seemed to be fine with even higher clockspeeds.

If I were to use that pc for boinc I'd probably let the gpu run seti or einstein though. Those WUs aren't that long.
