Hello,

as i am new to GPU grid computing (just got my gtx 460), i dont know is there any way to limit GPU usage?

for example i can limit cpu usage (for lower heat and fan rpm noise) but that doesnt affect gpu usage...its about 95-100% all the time, and that generates a lot more heat over here...and its not a problem for my GPU as the cooler is good, but in my case the temp is getting high, and so are the rpms from my cpu fan which generates more noise...

would like to sort this out....any help appreciated...

You could underclock the card or improve ventilation/air flow.
You can use EVGA Precision or another similar program to do this.

and so are the rpms from my cpu fan which generates more noise...

You can also underclock the CPU, or just run GPU tasks.

thx for the quick replys...

guess the answer to the topic Q is no :P

anyway think that some extra venting is in order as i do not intend to underclock...overclock maybe hehe

thx again

with tthrottle you can limit the gpu % usage, or directly the max temperature, which is more useful in your case
