The host in question is this http://www.gpugrid.net/show_host_detail.php?hostid=68848 . It is a new Samsung R580 laptop which i bought last month, it is a relatively new model. Strangly WUs from ACEMD beta version v6.22 (cuda) seems to have better results than the other applications, but still have more than 80% of error rates.

The specs of my laptop is this:
Windows 7 64bits Ultimate
GeForce GT 330M with driver 189.11
BOINC 6.10.43

I am suspecting it is the problem with the driver, however 189.11 is the latest one I can get from the offical Samsung website. I tried installed the one from the Nvidia website and it wouldn't let me. If someone can point me as to how to hack the inf file so that I can give the latest one a go, that would be helpful.

There are other potential tests I would look at first to see what the problem might be ... one of the problems with laptops is that they are not really designed to run full-tilt 24/7 and thus can run into problems when you do so ... particularly with GPU processing ...

So, my first question is have you eliminated overheating?

Try running one of the other GPU projects, Collatz, DNETC, SaH and see if they too fail after running for some hours.

If they do not, that does not eliminate completely the possibility that this is the issue, it is just that if they do start to fail it does indicate that the problem is not the drivers...

I doubt its the problem with heat, its winter in Australia and the laptop has been running CUDA WU from SETI@home without any problem.

And pretty much most of the WUs fail within 3 seconds of it starting.

First of all, don’t run Betas on that system!
Secondly, do check the temperatures. You can use GPUZ to check the GPU temps.
Are you running CPU tasks? If so and the CPU temps are a bit high, use less or no CPU. Due to the length of tasks for GPUGrid, the likelihood of failures is higher than other projects. It is odd that most of your tasks fail very early, so I would recommend that you restart your system, in the unlikely situation that you have not already done so! If you want to install an NVidia driver, log on as the Administrator and do the installation from that user account. You may also want to check your Boinc settings. I would recommend that you select to not run GPU tasks when you are using the system. Also consider keeping tasks in RAM or saving to disk (depending on what you use the laptop for; gaming watching media or just browsing and basic app use - if you play games or watch video sve to disk).
Lastly, I would not recommend running any GPU tasks on a laptop.

Good luck,

I have pretty much done everything you suggested, still no go. I guess I will have to back off from doing GPU work on my lappy.

Anyway, thanks for the help guys!
