I get a kboot prompt after booting up from the new pendrive OS but cannot enter any commands and linux does not boot period. My controller has 4 lights flashing (meaning its not being assigned to the system?). I cannot get back to the original OS because no commands are being accepted at kboot prompt. Any suggestions?

PS3GRID LIVE is unstable, use at own risk!!!

Thanks,

Tim

I did a hard reboot of the system which got me back to the regular OS. FWIW, I have a brand new USB drive (Bought today) and everything was set up as instructed. I\'ll try again tomorrow and let you all know if it works.

The system probably did not recognize the usb. You should prepare it with the HP utility available here:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/serveroptions/us/download/23839.html

You can always reboot the machine to the GAME OS by pressing the start button for longer than 3 second until. So there is no risk in this sense!

In our test the Linux system was completely stable and run few workunits without problems.

I tried this but it would just go straight back to the kboot screen. I had to hit the power switch behind the PS3, power back on and then hold down the on/off switch for 3 seconds and then restart.

I\'ll give the HP utility a try tonight. Thanks!

THE SAME. In general these are two useful tips:
1) Pressing and keeping pressed the off button for few seconds switches off the PS3.
2) Pressing the on button for few seconds when the PS3 is already off will boot the game os.

PS: boot-game-os is just available in YDL, I think.
